Answer

YES!

Taking GREAT CARE throughout the initial first 2 (full) gallons of premixed gas is essential!

1. Use a fuel mixture of 16 : 1 ( Gas to Oil ) with the use of Synthetic 2 stroke motorcycle oil and Octane 91 or 94 gas. This fuel ratio is recommended for the first 2 full gas tanks. Once broken in, you can drop the ratio to 20 : 1 ( Gas to Oil ) .

2. Do not ride the motor for more than 10 - 15 minutes at a time.

3. Variable speeds are recommended and do help with a good break in such as running the motor slowly, then revving high, then going slow again. However do not run the motor at full throttle for more than 15 - 25 seconds at most.

This is an essential consideration and critical to the proper operation of the engine.  Following proper break-in instructions means that pistons and rings will not seize.

Proper break in followed by routine maintenance will allow your motorized bicycle to take you thousands of miles.
