How do you connect the wiring on these motors and what is the white wire for?

Please connect the wiring as follows :

From CDI to engine :

Blue to Blue
Black to Black

----------------------------------------------

From Kill switch (If one yellow with red strip, and one green wire is present):

Yellow to Blue and Blue Wire connections
Green to Black and Black Wire connections

----------------------------------------------

***Important note: We personally like to recommend keeping the white wire disconnected and simply capped off. It usually produces about a 6V output but we have found that connecting the white wire to any other accessories tends to kill the magneto faster and also takes power away from the engine.

The white wire from the motor however can be connected to a trickle charge rechargeable battery which can then be connected to head and tail lights. We do not recommend a direct connection from the lights to the motor.

White wire can be used as a backup when you're black wire no longer works! Otherwise just trimmed off the lead and insulated with electrical tape.
